President Laura Chinchilla supports the opening of a regional debate about the possibility of decriminalizing the production and sale of illicit drugs in Central America. She made statements supporting the debate on Thursday in response to a proposal by Guatemalan president Otto Pérez. During a press conference Chinchilla also confirmed that consumption of illicit drugs is no longer prosecuted in Costa Rica in Costa Rica.

I’m form Detroit, Michigan and have seen what drugs can do to a community and to individuals. This coment from Laura is about the most ignorant statement she has made to date……………I hope she isn’t on the drugs she is proposing to legalize.
Thank goodness some politicians are coming to their senses! During the era of Prohibition, the U.S. government helped to create some of the most powerful criminals in the history of the world! The War Over Drugs is NOT working! Jobless, hopeless people will cling to any addiction they suspect will change their condition. Keeping those addictions criminal is costly in terms of lives lost and money spent. Let dopes who need dope buy it legally. They will eventually weed themselves out.
